Legendary Deep Dish Pizzeria Debuts Full-Service Restaurant & Bar and Headed to West Valley

PHOENIX, AZ — (May 23, 2024) – Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria, based in Chicago, IL, announced that it will officially make Surprise, AZ home to its ninth location in the Phoenix metro area.  The famous deep dish pizzeria is slated to open its newest location in Fall 2024, currently under construction, at 13382 N Prasada Parkway in Surprise, AZ.  The new space is coming soon to the Village at Prasada in a free-standing building with patio in an established retail and restaurant area, adjacent to other local favorites, at the southwest corner of W Waddell Rd and N Prasada Parkway.  It’s conveniently located near Loop 303 and Waddell Road in the West Valley.

Lou Malnati’s opened its first restaurant in Phoenix in 2016, followed by locations in Arcadia, Scottsdale, Glendale, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler and most recently in Tempe in December 2022.  The 6,100 square foot space will be a full-service restaurant and bar offering dine-in, carryout, delivery, curbside pick-up and drop off catering services for hungry fans in the Surprise area.  The delicious menu is highlighted by the legendary deep dish pizza and offers tasty thin crust along with signature appetizers, salads, pastas and desserts.  The new restaurant will offer a real deep dish dining experience and include a dining room, full-service bar, outdoor patio and more.  Featuring a contemporary design, it will seat approximately 220 guests for indoor dining with room for about 75 additional guests for outdoor dining.

The Malnati family has become famous for their original deep dish pizza recipe, top-notch quality, and hospitality since opening in 1971.  The company is still owned and operated by second generation family members as Lou Malnati’s son, Marc Malnati, proudly carries on the family tradition and honors their legacy.  Celebrating over 50 years in business, Lou Malnati’s currently operates 80 locations in Chicago, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and Phoenix.

The response to Lou Malnati’s in Arizona has been overwhelming. When we opened last year, we promised we were fully committed to Arizona. Our new Arcadia location is the next step in fulfilling the commitment we made to bring Arizona our famous Chicago deep dish pizza.

In addition to fulfilling our commitment to bringing deep dish pizza to Arizona, we are also staying true to our commitment to providing a true taste of Chicago in Arizona by using the same high-quality ingredients that make our pizza taste so great! Our made-from-scratch dough, Wisconsin mozzarella cheese, and vine-ripened tomatoes, all staples in our deep dish pizza recipe, will remain the same, just like our first location in Phoenix.

For all of our new friends in Phoenix, we have a few tips for how to make the most out of your first trip to Lou Malnati’s in the Valley!

1.) We are not taking reservations, and will be serving customers on a first come, first served basis. We are anticipating a very warm welcome, which means a busy first few weeks! Please plan accordingly for longer than average wait times, but keep in mind, this pizza is well worth the wait!

2.) Our hours are: Sunday – Thursday, 4pm – 11pm, Friday & Saturday, 4pm – Midnight… We know what you’re thinking, but don’t worry! We’ll be opening for lunch soon.

3.) We are offering dine-in, carryout, and delivery (within zone). Online ordering is also available for carryout and delivery orders! Don’t want to make the trip to the pizzeria quite yet? Have Lou’s delivered! Find out if you’re in our delivery zone by searching for your address on our map.

4.) Get your taste buds primed, and your mouth watering, by checking out our menu before you stop in. Pay close attention to the Specialties of the House – they’re what we’re famous for!

5.) This is the most important thing you will read today… there are a lot of delicious items on our menu, but you gotta try the deep dish pizza. And get the Buttercrust. Always get the Buttercrust.

6.) Eating deep dish pizza is an experience. Every bite should be savored, so use a fork & knife! And for goodness sake, never fold a slice of Lou Malnati’s deep dish pizza. This isn’t New York, after all.

7.) Save room for dessert because our Chocolate Chip Pizza will change your life! Pro tip: this dessert takes 10 minutes to cook, so order it when you bite into your second slice of pizza.
